Condition — We Sort It For You
What’s Accepted
Mattresses, furniture, small appliances, and general bulk household items — in any condition. We sort what happens next, so don’t worry about whether it’s “too worn” to bring.
- Mattresses & box springs. Any size, any condition — clean-and-usable or worn-out, we sort accordingly.
- Furniture. Dressers, nightstands, headboards, footboards, tables, chairs, and similar bedroom or living room pieces.
- Small appliances. Microwaves, small kitchen appliances, and similar household electronics (excluding anything that contains refrigerant).
- General bulk household items. Flattened boxes, bins, and other bulky items that don’t fit in a regular trash can.

What’s Not Accepted
As a responsible service, we prioritize the safety of our crew and community. That means a strict, no-exceptions policy on the following:
Never accepted, without exception:
Paint & chemicals
Tires
Refrigerant-containing appliances
Items with known or suspected bed bugs
These items can’t be sorted, donated, or recycled — and the bed bug policy exists specifically to protect our crew and the rest of your community, so it has no exceptions. For the full list and the reasoning behind it, see What We Can’t Accept, our Prohibited and Hazardous Items Policy, and our Bed Bug and Pest Policy.
Getting Your Item Ready
- Break it down where you can. Disassembling furniture — even partially — saves space in the zone for everyone.
- Flatten your boxes. A flattened box takes a fraction of the space of an assembled one.
- Note the condition accurately when you book. Good condition, recyclable materials, or not usable — this determines whether it’s donated, recycled, or disposed of.
Which Drop-Off Option Fits Your Item?
Once you know your item qualifies, here’s how to decide who does the carrying. A $4.50 service fee applies to every booking, and your full total is shown before you pay.

When in Doubt
Still Not Sure If It’s Accepted?
If it’s a normal household item — furniture, a mattress, small appliances, general bulk items — it’s almost certainly welcome. The only hard no’s are hazardous materials and anything with a known or suspected bed bug infestation. If you’re still unsure, ask before you book rather than guess.

What You Can Drop Off — Frequently Asked Questions
What items can be dropped off?
Mattresses, box springs, furniture, dressers, nightstands, small appliances, and general bulk household items. Break items down where you can — flatten boxes, disassemble furniture if possible — to keep the zone organized for everyone.
What items aren’t allowed in the zone?
No hazardous materials — that means no paint, chemicals, tires, or appliances containing refrigerants. We also can’t accept any item with a known or suspected bed bug infestation, without exception, for the safety of our crew and community. See
What We Can’t Accept for the full list.
What if I have multiple items to drop off?
No problem — each item is priced and booked individually, so you can drop off as many as you need during your window.
What if I’m not sure which drop-off option is right for me?
If you can easily carry the item to the zone yourself, DIY is the most affordable choice. If you’d rather not make the trip, Outside-Door lets you leave it at your door. If the item is heavy, awkward, or somewhere hard to move, Full-Service is built for that — our crew handles it start to finish.
Is Bulky Drop eco-friendly?
We take it seriously, but we want to be honest about it too: not every item can be donated or recycled, and local infrastructure has real limits. What we can promise is that every item is sorted by the condition you specify at booking, and we route as much as possible to donation or recycling before anything goes to the landfill.
